I had always been into computers and liked nothing more than helping other people when they had a problem with there computer. I started working in the technical department for a large Broadband Provider, this enabled me to work from home as the days i was working i was on call 24 hours a day as we provided technical help 24/7.

The World Wide Web is a wondrous place but also a bad place for your computer sometimes there was so many viruses and programs now that could damage your computer now and the creators were getting very sneeky and building them into the actual web design yourself.

When people took out one of the higher packages with us we as their broadband provider offered a technical service that not only covered things that may happen when they were on the world wide web but also if they had problems just from turning the Computer on.

Although it is safe to say that the world wide web was the main problem that we dealt with sometimes we had problem with the connection of the Internet and the speed and since we were their broadband provider it was up to us to either solve the problem as soon as humanly possible or compensating them for their troubles especially those who had business accounts with us being able to get online was imperative to them running their business and it could also be a costly problem for them if there was a problem with the broadband, it was down to the technical department to try as best we can to sort it because the larger business account could ask for us to reimbursement for the time and money they lossed and if every company did that we would be out of business in know time so time was definitely in the essence in my line of work.

We did have an allowance built into the contract though which gave us up to 12 hours to fix any problem before the customers could start to charge us for not being able to get online, for our regular customers it was 24hrs then we would reduce their bill for them and this seemed to keep everyone happy.
