I work from home on the computer for a site that is known as 'information highway.' I is a specialist site that makes its money by printing important information on all sorts of topics: almost any topic that someone would want to find out about in fact! My job is to locate key facts from all areas of the Internet and to compile them into our Internet data base. It is a very important job: most people do not actually appreciate the importance of a job such as my own!

Anyway, one day I decided I wanted to do some extra hours so that I could earn a bit of extra cash for the holidays. I would be doing a couple of extra hours work, which would probably consist of filing away people's complaints and improving the site as best I could. The computer keeps a log of just how long I am on the site, so every second counts toward my pay rise! Anyway, I typed in my user name and my password, just the same as any other day. To my utter astonishment the site did not load: instead there came a pop-upthat told me the site was not going to be accessible today. It said something about the site being under web development, and that it would not be usable for about three days.

I was very surprised and very annoyed, as I was hoping to make myself a little bit of money for the holidays. It would be nice, just a little to get myself a couple of ice creams while I was sitting down at the beach. Still, three days was not really too long to wait for the web development to be finished, so I decided that I would wait until it was complete.

The web development finished the very next day, despite the fact that the pop up box had promised that it would be running in three days time. This pleased me to no end, and the work that the web development team had done to the site pleased me even more.

They had made it very easy to access information; I could now get to whatever page I wanted to get to without having to search at all. The buttons were large and easy to understand. Overnight it had been transformed into a piece of modern art: something that someone such as myself could work with, and feel comfortable moving from area to area.
